Wolgarston High School in Staffordshire wanted to upgrade several classroom AV systems and transform their large sports hall into a versatile teaching and presentation space. With over 1,000 students on roll and a commitment to high-quality learning environments, the school sought reliable, easy-to-use systems that would support both everyday lessons and special events.
The project brief
The school needed AV upgrades across seven classrooms—replacing ageing equipment with new laser projectors, speakers and user-friendly controls. At the same time, they wanted to enhance their large sports hall, which is used for PE lessons, assemblies, guest speakers and school performances. The AV solution for this space needed to deliver clear visuals, excellent sound coverage, and be simple enough for all staff to operate.
The solution
Piranha AV designed and delivered a complete audio visual package for both classroom and sports hall use.
In the classrooms, we installed:
- High-brightness laser projectors with wall mounts for crisp, low-maintenance display
- Projection whiteboards to support visual teaching tools
- Integrated speaker systems and wall-mounted AV control panels for straightforward operation
In the sports hall, we created a flexible, high-performance AV system that included:
- A large-format laser projector and projection screen for assemblies, events and PE
- A powerful audio system with a wall-mounted rack housing amplifiers and mixers
- Handheld wireless microphones to enable speeches, announcements and performances
- A wall-mounted control panel giving staff full control of the sound and visuals at the touch of a button
All equipment was professionally installed and tested to ensure ease of use and reliable performance across all school functions.
